Bridesmaids Duty

• Organise the food and drinks for the bridal party. When selecting, keep in mind that small bite size finger foods are best. E.g. platters of fruit, meats, cheese & crackers, open sandwiches, are ideal. Don’t forget the straws for the drinks.
• What is the bride's favourite music? Keep everyone in good spirits by organising a thoughtful play list for the bride especially for the big day to listen to during the hairand make-up application and while everyone is getting ready.
• Take Photo's of the best behind the scenes snapshots you can laugh at later to preserve the memory.
• Watch a wedding themed movie during the hair and make-up application e.g. (Bridesmaides, Mama Mia, The Wedding singer & The Wedding Planner)
• Provide a calm, relaxing and stress free environment. Organise a herbal or aromatherapy bath for the bride (don't get your hair wet though).
• Organise the payment envelopes, e.g. florist, make-up artist and hairdresser (it can be embarrassing to ask later when the bridal party is with the photographer)
• Check the flowers when they arrive (remember who's who). Sort out any housekeeping,etc.
• Get dressed and then be available to help the bride into her gown.
• Veil placement tips: If the veil is to be taken out after the ceremony, your hairdresser will show the bridesmaids how to do this without spoiling the hairstyle.
